The winter of 2009/2010 is without doubt one of the coldest winter in the Netherlands since a very very long time. As a photographer with so much snowfall it’s impossible to stay inside.. so I called Pim Stigter one of the most progressive Dutch freestyle snowboarders in the scene. Being a member of the Dutch national big-air team and national champion in slope style he travels the world training & competing at world-cups. Since he was in his home country to celebrate Christmas with his family everything was arranged quickly. Richard de Ruiter and Matthijs Kan joined us and the snowboard session in the harbour of Scheveningen could get started.

BK Snowboarden & Freeski, Les Deux Alpes

From Saturday 11th April till Friday 17th April 2009 Les Deux Alpes hosted the Belgium Snowboarding and Freeski championships. I was there to report for Tacky website.. Several disciplines the riders had to participate in like Big Air, Slopestyle and Halfpipe.. The Snowjam event is known for it’s sick snowboard and freeski riding but more famous are the parties that go on till late at night every day. Several dj’s and bands are performing in clubs in Les Deux Alpes like TriggerFinger, Foxylane and many more..

BoardTest 2008 Snowboard Magazine ST. Moritz

What a life.. spending a week with some really nice and friendly snowboarders in St. Moritz Switserland to test the new 2009 snowboards for Snowboard Magazine. Different categories had to be tested varying from freestyle, all mountain & freeride. Snow conditions were not in our advantage with testing the freeride boards but our guide was great and showed us some spots with powder! Freestyle was sick, my buddy Joy Geenen joined us so guaranteed action on the kickers. Despite the weather the helicopter drop on the last day was canceled due to heavy snowfall and no visibility. Ästhetiker Jam – Wängl Tängl, Mayrhofen Austria

The Aesthetiker Jam – Waengl Taengl 2008 is over and has a new winner. Andreas Gidlund from Sweden challenged the bad weather and the other 23 finalists putting down two impressive runs.

Even though the conditions made the riding really hard, all the riders impressed with 7s, 9s and 1080 rotations during the whole day. Besides the actual scores, judges gave away bonus awards for special tricks. Stefan Gimpl did a 1080 degree rotation, followed by a Bs 5 and a Cab 9 assuring him Most Impressive Line. Tyler Chorlton from Andorra once again went for his insane Double Frontflip on the Vans Kicker, which was voted Best Trick.
